*PENSA-UHAS MINI FUNDRAISING*
Sermon by Asare-Duah Samuel Oppong Snr

TEXT: Genesis 15:1-6; 21:1-7; 22:1-18

*Definitions*
Trust: to put confidence in or rely on some person or quality. Synonym, believe in.

Obey: to do as ordered. In the case of God, Completely and exactly.

*These two words, simple as they are, forms the basis of an everlasting relationship with God, full of splendor and glory.

*Two perspectives where we trust and obey God*
1. Trusting and obeying unto the fulfillment of God’s promises.
2. Trusting and obeying when put to test.

*Trusting and obeying unto the fulfillment of God’s promises*
Genesis 15:1-6; 21:1-7 (considering a verse at a time)
•God is faithful to keep his promises made concerning us, and he does exceedingly, abundantly, more than we can think of.
•Even in our unfaithfulness, he still remains faithful.
•The promises of God are yey, true and Amen.
• The promise may come in many forms, vision, Dream, Prophecy, the word, audible voice of God and many more. Just as it was done for Abraham and Sarah, it shall be done for us.
•Habakuk 2:3
*Don’t loose hope, take matters into your own hands and consequently limit the fulfillment of God’s promises in your life. (The issue of Ishmael)

*Trusting and obeying when put to test*
Genesis 22:1-18 (a verse at a time)
•Abraham acted promptly to the request of God. Early the next morning.
•God actually wanted Abraham to kill Isaac in his heart. Thus giving him the fullness of his heart. And indeed Abraham passed the test.
•Never hesitate to sacrifice anything for the cause of God’s kingdom for by doing so, he shall bless you.
Indeed Abraham was blessed. A blessing that didn’t end with him, but influenced generations after him.

*#What it really means to trust and obey*
•This is you letting go of your will, accepting the will of God, and walking by it.
•Jesus as our example walked fully in the will of God. So he found himself doing the right thing at the right place and at the right time.
•In trusting and Obeying (walking in God’s will), we will not miss his grace nor any blessing he has in store for us.

*God bless you*
